Happy 10th anniversary to one of my ultimate favorite hilariously terrific movies!! (I am still heartbroken Manfriend doesn’t find you funny, but oh well. I watch you over and over again when he is not around)
“A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself-and especially to feel, or not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at any moment is fine with them. That’s what real love amounts to - letting a person be what he really is.”—Jim Morrison
Great opinion article on the new TV show Whitney starring Whitney Cummings, famous “fearless” female stand-up comedian. I just watched the pilot episode and since I cannot quite put my words eloquently into a tumblr post, this fantastic article sums it up. I think what I had said to my best gf was “This show is about as funny as a show about me pooping.” Which could be funny for the common man, for all I know. Probably funnier than this chick just quoting other funny girls that she overhears on the street and making ridiculous pop culture references.
The only reason why I am starting to watch TV again is the plethora of female dominated comedies on the horizon this Fall. So far, not good. My life feels entirely ripped off in a multitude of multiple sitcoms. Is my hilariously turmoiled but slightly patheticly awesome life the same one that every chick my age is living right now? I sure hope not, but it really is being conveyed that way on primetime television. Thanks networks, for making a mockery of mi vida loca. First Bridesmaids, now all this hoopla. I would like some royalties!
Had to take a short pause from the constant flow of Ryan Adams to bop around to this guy. Ryan Adams now resumes, but do yourself a favor and take a Spoon-filled time out at some point today. You’ll thank me later.
5. Sometimes knowledge of all of “RETINAS” anagram possibilities is a curse. You find yourself seeking out these seven letters at every possible moment, foregoing choice 20+ point moves to do a vowel dump in an attempt to gain that magic combination. Don’t sell yourself short. Yes, the possibility…
Mindy Kaling’s awesomely funny and straight-forwardly accurate guide to each heroine character you see in the terribly weepy rom-com’s in today’s society. My personal favorite:
The Sassy Best Friend
You know that really hilarious and horny best friend who is always asking about your relationship and has nothing really going on in her own life? She always wants to meet you in coffee shops or wants to go to Bloomingdale’s to sample perfumes? She runs a chic dildo store in the West Village? Nope? O.K., that’s this person.
