Oh What a World

Rufus Wainwright - Oh What a World
SOMEDAY I will sing this at karaoke. Someday when I actually sing at karaoke.

“I believe that loving fearlessly is the bravest thing in this world. It’s not loving without fear. It’s loving fear-less-ly, courageously [love truly].. to be afraid and leap regardless…there is such power in that. I think that relates to all parts of your life. What is left unlived and unexpressed in love hurts the most.”
—Sabrina Ward Harrison
“An artist’s only concern is to shoot for some kind of perfection, and on his own terms, not anyone else’s.”

J.D. Salinger, Franny & Zooey. Salinger died two years ago today. (via doubledaybooks)
J.D. Salinger has always been a magnificent influence of my own writing. More so from Franny and Zooey and Nine Stories than Catcher, with such an untouchable voice for character and a constant push of limits. It is funny how I have always related to male writers more than female, the grittiness and straight shooting detail. Without Salinger’s influence in my life I wouldn’t be the kind of writer I am today.
